There's a place in the Queens section of NYC, nycperformancetuning.com/ that will tune the Classic. They don't mention the 2G, though. Ask them about that.

He told me he was no longer supporting the platform. Can't find the email though. I am sure he would have taken my money haha. Maybe he had an influx again. However, awhelage and I think plato had issues with their tune(cooling fans not working at proper temp). I would also be reluctant to get a tune that won't be supported and can't be changed by simply sending it back. You be out your money and then have to pay wester's. Unless he stipulates he will make changes for ya! The choice is yours!
**I emailed him and he stated heIS still doing it until September, just no longer a load it yourself option.**

However, awhelage and I think plato had issues with their tune(cooling fans not working at proper temp). I would still get mime tuned again. The difference is noticeable. in regards to the fans, i'm not sure when it kicks on, but then again I haven't sat down and actually checked temp. In my opinion, its still very worth it.

Does your car hit 220 still? I want mine to always stay right around 200.

If cooling fans are your main concern there are a few ways to get them on earlier w/o a tune.

They are my main concern, however it would be cool to have harder shifts and no top speed limiter. Does the tune make your car any faster? lol. What are some of they ways you are referring too, Sall? By the way, I emailed madtuner and he replied back. "I will be continuing to offer the tuning for 96-99 till the 1st of September. You can still order it if you want. Please let me know if you have any other questions."
I replied back and asked him if he will offer any support after September 1st.

Just do what I did and keep your factory PCM stored away in the house and just order a tune with another PCM. My car runs great. No complaints with my madtuner tune. My car launching from 20mph, 40-50mph and 60-68mph pulls like a bat out of hell.

Did you order your tune with firmer shifts? If so what are those like?

For the good of the order, Madtuner just emailed me back saying he will support tunes after September 1st. He also said he hasn't had any 96-99 customers report any issues.

No issues with the "test tune" he did on mine, fans come on when they should. Usually is just when the needle starts creeping past 200, and it almost never happens anyways haha.

If it helps anyone out, I have extra pcms, I could send him one if someone wanted to borrow one, he is a state away from me and gets them quick.

However, awhelage and I think plato had issues with their tune(cooling fans not working at proper temp). When tinkering with my "low engine coolant" issue the low speed fans did come on at 200° (what I had requested from Madtuner) when I had the car idling in the garage trying to see if there was any air in the cooling system. Then I took it for a drive around town and when I pulled into the gas station and popped the hood the fans were off and the ECT sensor read 212°. So it sometimes works....haven't found the variable yet to understand the intermittent issue. Just got back from vacation so I will do some more digging!

I really want/need to do this but I need to be able to self tune with the cable. Mine will stay at 225F in idle. I just want to adjust cooling fans.

I really want/need to do this but I need to be able to self tune with the cable. Mine will stay at 225F in idle. I just want to adjust cooling fans. The cable option I think only allows you to upload the tune to your PCM. It doesn't allow you to edit the tune. If I remember correctly Ion told me that he will send the tune through email and then download the software from a link he sends. You also may need to build a harness or purchase an adapter for the PCM connector to actually hook into his USB to OBD2 cable. So all the cable option does is cost you another $350 deposit and not sending your OEM PCM or a second PCM to him.

He won't send it anymore; I just emailed him about it and that's not available. He's about a 2 hour drive away from me, I wonder if I should go in..

He's about two hours from me as well. My next step is to go there and figure out my cooling fan settings.

Getting my tune this next week! Yay!!
Unsure if I'm just going to buy the pcm from Madtuner or send mine in and grab another one from my pull a part.

Someone on here once told me to keep engine cool in warmer temp just unplug your coolant sensor, tricks your engine into running the fans all the time, just gotta ignore the low coolant Warning every time you start it, which is nothing, mine also says air bag problem every time I start it

The coolant temp sensor and the coolant level sensor are two separate things.
You can go without the level sensor with no real issue (other than the annoyance), but the temp sensor is required or the engine will run like crap.

I'm a little confused as to what everything means but would like to have some stuff done to uncrease mpg and maybe quickness when I want to use it. I'm in Iowa so does that make it to where I cant get this stuff done without making a trip?

He can't really guarantee in increase in MPG with the tune but if you change some of the throttle shift points you will have a more sporty feel to the car. If you tell him what you want to accomplish he will create a tune for you.
You can send your OEM PCM to him but that means no driving the car for about a week. I purchased a used PCM off eBay and sent it directly to him.

What is a good price for a used pcm? What should I look for when buying one? Mine is a 2003
