Hey guys.
So can anyone tell me why I have water build up in my battery well? Found it today when I went to go do work on the car. Have otherwise never seen water there. What part is responsible for not draining correctly? Specifically to this part of he car. I'm driving a 2001 Oldsmobile aurora 3.5L

I saw that when my trunk was leaking. The water was actually pooling in the spare tire well. if I hit the brakes hard, the water would slosh out and run forward in the trunk, down the drop into the rear seat area.
I would look to see if you have water in your spare tire well and go from there.

Same here,,,,, it was entering through the trunk seal ,,,traveling down under the electrical wires that are wrapped up with that tubing crap (when you open the passenger rear door right there beside the battery) filling that up and overflowing into the battery compartment. It used to go in the trunk lid to,,,,so as soon as you opened it you get a waterfall down the front of you It stopped doing it for some reason,,,hasn't done it in over 3 years It always coincided with the spare wheel fill,...........I basically stripped the trunk after. There is an old thread around here about siliconing the trunk seal. Put a bead under the rubber seal ,,,,something like that.

Put a bead under the rubber seal ,,,,something like that. I took the entire seal off. Cleaned the old adhesive as much as possible and reinstalled using 3M weatherstrip adhesive. Haven't leaked a drop since. Note: I don't know how other adhesives work, but if you use the 3M, make sure you work in a WELL VENTILATED area. That stuff will BURN YOUR NOSE HAIRS!! (or sure feels that way...)

Believe it of not the trunk seal allows the water to go there. Under ur plate make sure you take those 3 rubber blockers out. Then take your trunk seal off and reinstall once the lip is cleaned with new silicone
