I hit a huge pothole in a friends driveway and broke my passenger side swaybar linkage... after happily doing the $8 repair I looked over and saw this. The car creaks at takeoff. Is this generally fixable? Is it safely driveable? I wasnt planning on this expense at the moment... though the car is in very rough shape... 1 deer, 2 rear-ending, and countless door opening dents... its starting to get enough rust to look like a Dodge.

I'd suggest you start looking for another Aurora. You may get lucky and find one with blown HG or trans problems and get it cheap. Swap your drivetrain into it (if needed) and you're better off.

This exact thing sent my old Taurus to the scrap yard. Usually will cost you more than its worth to fix

that's a shame. It could be doable but you might be better off slapping some spray paint on it and looking for another aurora. after taking those brackets apart there might not be enough left of them to install new bushings.
