There have been numerous times when the search engine on this board does not work. The only way I can generate a good result is to include aurora club of north america along with the specific problem in a google search.

Yes. This is a well known fact that the proboards search function is subpar. You need to search google like this: oil pressure site:www.aurorah.proboards.com replacing oil pressure with your desired search query.

put 999 in for days and 50-80 max results and it should work

We (the forum staff) unfortunately don't have any control over the search function. It's powered and limited by Proboards, the site that hosts this forum (and many others) for free.
As Nelson said, increasing the time frame of search (7 day default is just silly) and search results works much better. 999 days is the max that the search recognizes. The results are also more understandable if you change the result display to "threads" from the default "posts". I'm not sure why Proboards doesn't allow complete historical searching, like most other major forums.
