I'm confused was it white before? Did you paint it white or grey?

Looks gorgeous. Throw a before pic up for the heck of it. Parts had been replaced on the car before. I started to take them off and found where someone had done some modifications and didn't want to have to fix those things when it came time to put it back on. Just taking the reveal moulding off without destroying it was a challenge in itself. My finishing process was 3m Trizact 1500 grit wet on a da sander followed by 3m Trizact 3000 grit wet on da. Buffed with 3m compound with a Meguiars wool pad followed by a maroon Meguiars foam pad. Final polish was 3m polish with a yellow meguiars polishing pad. I usually go over dark colors one more time with my porter cable but it finished out nice without it.

I'm confused was it white before? Did you paint it white or grey? It was and is still white. The grey is an epoxy primer/sealer. Works like a glue to create better adhesion and cover any sand scratches.

Nice job! Now polish those exhaust tips. You need to polish your tips!

Nice job! Now polish those exhaust tips! It's not my car. I painted it for an old neighbor. I removed and filled the license plate holder on the front too.

Your neighbor is very lucky, This looks great, I did an overall garage Diy paint job on my 95 about 5 years ago but I only handle a spray gun about every 2-3 years. It came out ok, but does not look new . There is a-lot of skill and finesse is paintwork and your skill shows in the photos. Is this a base/clear or just color coat? Rich

Rich Yeah there is some talent to it but a good gun can make a difference too. I spray my colors with a $450 gun and clears with an $800 gun. The paint on here is a basecoat/clearcoat. A single stage was originally on it but I'm not crazy about it unless it is black. Painting is just a little hobby of mine but it seems I have quite a few people asking me to do stuff here lately. I actually just did a tailgate for a truck yesterday afternoon. This is my truck. I completely stripped the whole outside down to bare metal and worked from there.

A little suggestion; it's not hard to take those side markers off... 4 clips at the back of each... It is an easy spot for paint to chip if they were taped off instead of removed to paint. Ask me how I know...

Ask me how I know... The paint chips because it wasn't sanded and the paint has no way to stick. In tight areas I use a spray by Bulldog called Jamb and Edge. It softens the paint in hard to reach areas and allows adhesion.
