Hey guys,
Just doing a bit of rust removal on the undercarriage and anywhere I can see it starting but I need to remove the black trim piece that goes along the side of the car underneath the doors and folds over top the door frame edges. I think I see some rust starting underneath that cover so I need to get those off soon. I removed the 4 or so screws from underneath but it's still on there firmly, is it clipped in some way or do I just need to use some more force to rip it off?
This is a 97 aurora by the way.
Planning to do silver POR-15 all underneath, will post pics when it's done!
Thanks!

The rocker cover trim panels are removed by the seven 7mm screws underneath, push fastener in each wheel well and two retainers holding the front portion of the rocker cover panel to the fender. Once you remove all those open both doors and pull the rockers away from the door sill area. Then there is seven clips on each side holding the cover to the actual rocker panel. These are not re-usable. If you are lucky your rockers will look like this!

Awesome, thanks a lot for the pictures! I doubt mine will look that good as there's quite a bit of salt damage underneath and I'm almost concerned about the integrity of the rear floor area as it seems to have gotten the worst of it. I've probably already put in more money trying to repair damage caused by rust than it's worth, but you've got to finish what you've started I guess.
Next time I'm just going to buy a car from California.
