The second battery is also to power the CarPC/Stereo when engine is off(isolated from main battery) . A group 34 in a lithium ion is ~$1300+!

Have you considered using one of the new li-po booster batteries for that 2nd battery? Price has come down to $60 range for a 10AH,200A max pack that's the size of a thick paperback and weighs ounces. Are these finding their way into mobile audio installs? Is that an AGM battery cause if not it might not stand a chance competing with the AGM batteries

Replaced the main battery/chassis ground from the upgraded 2/0 welding cable to SHA '2/0' cable which is really 4/0 cable a while back. New Enclosure. It is 2.00 cu. ft. per chamber net and tuned to 33 Hz. Decided the AUX battery would go in initial planned location covered by a beauty panel. Cardboard template to trace on MDF later... Subwoofer Enclosure beauty panel will make up the 3/4" gap. Should be nice and clean. Until next time...

hey are you gonna eventually get a custom built box or no? You would get even better performance out of your subs.

Nope. Not the time of year for that and I refuse to cut MDF in the garage. I would build a custom enclosure identically. Built previous single 12" enclosure. This enclosure has the perfect net volume for both subwoofers per SoundQubed specs for HDS312 model and is tuned low enough at 33Hz. There would be absolutely no advantage of building an enclosure other than one more enclosure under my belt.

Stuff coats everything. It's not good for you either! The enclosure is 40" long, 18" deep and 13.5" high. Each chamber has 2.207 cu. ft. gross volume and is ported to 33Hz. The width is perfect for in between the shock towers. Just like my previous enclosure. It's a few inches deeper though! What volume and frequency is your current enclosure at tim1993?

Beefy ground cable there That's the box idea I've been playing with for when the warm weather comes. Would tune mine to 32hz. Don't ask me why though LOL. It's what my old Kicker L5 box was tuned to, so I just always have that number stuck in my head. Would love to see that beauty panel as well. I haven't fully grasped the mounting part of those yet. Pressure fit?

To be honest I'm not exactly sure I know its tuned for low bass though because me personally I dont care about being too loud but I love low bass notes I know I can play 28hz with no problems but I dont think its tuned below 28hz I think probably in the range between 28hz-33hz. This is what the box look like though.

I will ask the guy that built the box for me and he did go by the subs specs. I have Rockford Fosgate T1 12's 2ohm DVC.

Haha no problem!
Inno, I remember you asking for the original single enclosure plans but I cannot find them. I can measure the dimensions when I get time though. It's oddly shaped. The beauty panels will likely be bolted/screwed into place and battery panel press fit/velcro. Need to be able to remove but prevent vibration at the same time.

I paid $200 a piece for these and they are 600 watts rms a piece and the guy gave me his custom made box with the subs so it was actually a good deal the reason why I got another box built because the 2002 Aurora I had these same subs and box in had caught on fire so when I got the 99 Aurora the box was too big to go in the trunk so i went and got a custom box built that was small enough to fit in the 99 Aurora

A little progress. Trying to keep it clean! Dual battery, three amplifiers, line driver, half a mile of wiring. Sure I could slap it together, but nah.

Thanks! I am going to customize some RCA cables to patch between the line driver and four channel amp. They are 6-8 inches apart. Take a 1.5ft long RCA cut in half solder on new male RCAs.

Tested running system off aux battery only. Success! Battery mount location: Need to build a box and secure to trunk floor.

thats where mines at 2 but the guy put it in a bracket so it wouldnt be sliding around. Right. Only place to mount an aux battery really. As mentioned it will be in custom box fastened to the trunk floor/body in some form or fashion! I don't know anything about your wiring but better hope it is hooked up as pictured in the diagram above. You seem to have bad luck with fire!

yea I know and the guy at the stereo shop did it but i double checked his work. I am referring to the two fuses within 18" of the batteries on the cable connecting the positive poles.

Oh yea but where is your 2nd fuse located? I only have one and thats the one where my power wire is running to the 2nd battery.

Check the diagram. Within 18" of the main battery and within 18" of AUX battery. Then your amplifier/s still need a fuse. So, minimum three.

Yes, that is the rear of the enclosure. Mounted on rubber standoffs. That is the Line Driver and 4CH amplifier.
