When I washed my car today, I ran into a bit of a problem. The water was drying before I could dry it with a towel resulting in water spots. So I did some looking, and found an easy fix. I mixed half water and half white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray this on the water spots and let it sit for about 30 seconds. Wipe it off with a clean towel. This works really well without scratching the paint. This I think is one of life hacks I've ever found. final result

Yeah vinegar will cut hard water. One often overlooked cleaning supply as people always go for chemicals in the household. Good for killing weeds and ridding of ants as well. I wonder how safe that is for the clearcoat since it pretty acidic? Will it eat your fresh wax too? Things to ponder I guess!

well, you dilute the vinegar with water, so i dont think it will eat the clear. it will take of the wax though, but that is alright because i was going to wax it anyway.

Some fussy types do a final rinse with distilled water. I haven't tried that yet but I imagine a couple gallons in a garden sprayer should do the job to push off the hard water rinse.

ya ive heard using distilled water too, but i think it would take a lot of water to rinse the car completely clean.

The best way to prevent waterspots is to spay the car with water to cool the car off if it was sitting in the sun and wash in the shade if possible. Vinegar is good if shade isn't available and is something I wouldn't have came up with myself lol

Unfortunately, washing under shade wasn't an option, because there are no trees around me.

A lot of boaters use 50/50 water vinegar mix to wash their boats.
