You would want a 97+ subframe. Then you can upgrade suspension(aluminum control arms, updated knuckle and big brakes). Or you could grind the front vertical control arm bracket off the subframe. Re-orientate it horizontal and weld it on on then upgrade to aluminum control arms, new knuckle and big brakes. Check riv forum for more info on the rotation of control arm bracket.
The '99 subframe will have bolt holes for front engine mount and not the front trans mount AFAIK.
You may as well go full custom coil over or bags! You have all the work in the engine already haha.

so i had the guys at the dealership where i work investigate a power steering leak. all in all, i need a rack and a pressure hose and switch. for $1000 i'd rather upgrade all the front suspension, bigger brakes, better rack, better transmission mounts, and i seem to remember someone swapping an aluminum subframe from something, but i dont remmeber the source of the subframe. please correct me if i'm wrong. i also need help in the application department for donor vehicles. thanks. You could fix this for $150 or cheaper, buy a used rack, pay someone to install it, or install it yourself, they are easy. Salvage yard database.

I doubt it golden, but what ride are you going for? Cushy soft or sporty? If it was me I would probably do some custom poly or hard welded mounts. That's me though haha. Not sure if that is what you meant by upgrade though other than just replacing with new.
You should really head over to the riv forum. There is a lot more info floating around over there mod wise. More people willing to take chances on things than the Aurora crowd you find here that is mostly stock, stock, stock.

Could have went with the Lucerne V8 or Chevy Impala for a bigger pad/rotor combo. Good choice on the already powder coated ones! I have them on the fronts and no shipping or peeling so far...been almost a year and through a winter.
