VOTING IS NOW CLOSED. Everyone gets 5 votes. Use them wisely! You can view the submissions and vote for your favorites HERE.
It's time for the SEVENTH annual ACNA calendar submission process to begin! The rules (and this post, in fact) are much the same as previous years:
Photo submission is now CLOSED.
Here's the quick summary: Simply email me the photo that you want to be on the calendar (xjsman89@auroraclubna.com) in the biggest resolution you have; it doesn't matter how big. I won't accept it unless its 1600X1200 pixels or larger, however. It has to be that big to fit on the calendar. I'll make sure that it will fit and then I'll post it with the other submissions. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include your ACNA username. I know most of you but I like to be sure I'm getting the right person. Its as easy as that!
I will have to crop/adjust most photos to get them to fit perfectly. If possible please be sure that there is a little space around the Aurora in the actual picture itself; this allows me to crop a picture without cutting off part of your car and/or having to add borders to the photo. This has been a problem with some previous years' photos.
Voting will begin on Friday, October 16th and will continue until Saturday, November 22nd at 12:00 noon CST.
Here is a more specific overview of the process so that everyone knows whats going on:
Photo Submission
Voting
Overall
That pretty much sums it up! Feel free to post questions/comments/suggestions on this thread.
The submission thread will remain locked throughout the whole process to eliminate drivel.
EVERYONE should submit a photo provided it is large enough! There's no excuse not to. We've had six great calendars so far, let's have another!
Thanks, everyone!

Here is a more specific overview of the process so that everyone knows whats going on:
Photo Submission
- The photo submission process is what will start now and continue until October 15th.
- Only one photo per person can be considered for submission at once. (aka please don't send me your "top three favorites" because only one can go up in the submissions thread)
- Instead of posting them yourselves I will need a FULL RESOLUTION picture sent to MY EMAIL. This worked very well last year. There weren't any that were too small/too poor quality to use. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR ACNA USERNAME.
- I prefer that you send me pictures through email to xjsman89@auroraclubna.com. If you absolutely need to do so you can send me pictures via PM, but they have to meet the minimum size requirement.
- Full resolution pics mean that I need them as big as you can get them to me, not trimmed to fit on the site. I will add your pictures myself once I confirm that I have what I need for it to work on the calendar. The picture you send needs to be AT LEAST 1600 X 1200 PIXELS for me to accept it. Larger is preferred and will result in a cleaner picture.
- I'm testing all of these out on CafePress as I receive them to make sure they fit. I'll do my best to crop/edit them so that they work.
- If the quality of your photo isn't very high (no cell phone pics!) then we may have to ask that you submit a different one. We wont be picky, but grainy, unfocused, or unclear pictures aren't what we want. We want the calendar to look as good as possible!
- While I wouldn't recommend it, you will be allowed to change the photo you submitted to me up until the submission deadline. It's a good idea to get your photo in as quickly as possible in order to have it be seen by everyone. You only get to change your photo a maximum of two times, so choose wisely.
- You must submit a photo of your own car. If you have taken a good picture of someone else's car then send the picture to them and they can submit it themselves.
- With the exception of meet photos, you can only submit your car for the calendar once. For example, if you have a photo with another member's Aurora in it (not in the background, I mean if it's a subject of the actual photo) along with your own, that submission will count for both of you. I will need to confirm the submission with both parties before posting.
- Photos that were submitted in previous years can be re-used as long as they didn't make it into a calendar from a previous year. Repeats are boring!
Voting
- Voting will take place via a poll at the top of the submissions thread
- In the event of a tie vote, there will be a one-week tiebreaker vote between the pictures in question.
- If the tiebreaker somehow ends in a tie, then the best picture will be chosen by ACNA staff.
- Everyone will get five votes this year.If everyone who submitted a photo votes for their own as well as four others then we can keep a level playing field, so please do so!
- Voting will begin on October 16th and continue through November 22nd.
- If necessary, a two week tiebreaker will be held from November 23rd to December 7th.
- Voting will take place in the submissions thread. The poll will be hidden for the entire voting period, and you will be able to see it once the voting completes at approximately 12 noon central time.
- Last year there was a need for TWO submissions threads (We had a lot of pictures, the polling function within proboards is limited to a certain amount). If this happens again we will split up the photos and allow a certain number of votes per thread to keep things equal. Photos will be posted in the order they are received.
Overall
- The calendar will be put together via Cafe Press as always. I'm giving myself a month to do all the photoshop work needed, get it together, and get it online and ready for purchase. The target date for the calendar release will be mid December.
- The price will be $17.99.
- There will be just one meet photo this year. The Bolivar, MO meet will occupy either September or October.
- Please note that this is an Aurora calendar... aside from meet photos (if that is what is chosen) please don't submit photos of you and the car.
- Everything is subject to change of course, if the staff and I find that there is a better way to do things then I/we might change up how things are done.
- There is no campaigning allowed. (No "vote for me" threads) and comments have to be kept civil. Feel free to discuss everything here but please no put downs. The staff always reserves the right to delete unwelcome posts, and also reserves the right to decline submissions (usually those lacking in quality/size/etc.)
