So, having no trunk light, I replaced the bulb. That didn't help, so I got a new fixture from the u-pull. Still, no light. Am I missing something, or did I just get a bad fixture from the u-pull? Is this a common problem with the 2g?

My oem lights worked but I wanted everything LIT up when the trunk is popped, so I ordered a LED strip from eBay and a couple connectors and wired it in and hot glued the two strips to the top and WOW, it lit it up! I'll try to find pics

check the fuse or might be broken wire or bad sensor cuz trunk lights up only when u open it.

You can check the socket for continuity (w/ good bulb installed) with a DMM to see if that's the problem. Also check for voltage before and after the switch.
