Well, I read through a dozen posts or so and I don't see my issue "exactly". 2001, 4.0L, ~145K miles. I have disconnected the wiper switch and rainsense unit. Wipers are still coming on intermittently. It does not matter where I set the intermittent setting, the wipers wipe about every 10-15 seconds (I did not time them). Suggestions? ...gene Edit - What actually controls the intermittent action - or is there another logic board somewhere other than the wiper motor? If not and the logic for the wipers is on the motor - it seems I am off to you-pull-and-pay again Edit 2 - Well, I got out my service manual and all the logic is in the Motor assembly. All that changes the signals are resistors in the various switches. So I think that is the issue, the wiper motor assembly. I will pull one tomorrow and change it out. Edit 3 - I was going to post a DIY with pictures, but alas forgot. Replacing the motor did the trick. Just remember when you head to the junk yard to take your T-27 torx bit with your other normal junk yard tools. There are three torx screws that hold the motor to the wiper sub-assembly. And you'll need to manually rotate the motor to gain the clearance you'll need to remove the assembly. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 this is definitely a 1.

Hey Gene, check for cold solder joints on the circuit board attached to the wiper motor. My GMC Jimmy's wipers were "possessed", lol. I fixed a few joints and no problems since. Good luck!
