So I have a 2002 aurora 3.5 and I'm upgrading the stereo and I do not know whether or not to buy the amplified wiring harness or non amp one. How would I find out if my car has one

If you have the BOSE speaker system (RPO U80), you have an amp. You can find your RPO codes on a sticker on the underside of the spare tire cover in the trunk.  |

If you have speakers in your rear doors that means you have bose and u have an amp
if there no speakers in rear doors then no amp

I dont have a BOSE system by the looks of it. No speakers in rear doors. But when i look at my fuse box theres a 20A fuse for an "audio amp" which is throwing me off

Then u don't have an amp it might be there by default maybe it does some other function for non bose.

I want to put the 2002 aurora bose navigation stereo in my 2001. Are they interchangeable?

It's not exactly plug 'n play, haha! You can make it work though, IIRC, all you need is the GPS antenna. Don't me to that though.
It's CD based maps, do you have the discs?

I believe you need to tap the VSS signal in the '01. The conversion is in the stickies somewhere. It is an antiquated system though. Your cell phone GPS/NAV is a thousand times better. For the price of the used nav unit you can get a better new aftermarket unit. |

ye u need to tap in in to VSS. nav is plug and play on 02 and 03. Agree with sal better to get after market.
