Hey gang, I did a audio switch a week or so ago and now I don't have any sound coming from the rear speakers. I bought a standard wiring harness and hooked all the wires up. I now get sound out of both door speakers (upper and lower) but no sound from the rear deck speakers. I used a Scosche GM Motors Car Stereo High Quality Wiring Connector For Years 1994 Through 2006. Did I get the wrong harness? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't have the answer but to help others they need to know what year your car is, does it have the upgraded Bose system and/or multiple CD changer in trunk, and what is the basic 411 on the head unit you are using. The Bose wiring brings in some electronic hurdles to a re-wire job from reading previous posts on the matter. Good luck.

So, it worked fine and then the rear deck speakers went out?

My apologies. I've got a 1997 Classic and it did not have the Bose system, to the best of my knowledge (there was no Bose branding on the head unit nor is there an amp under the rear deck). I installed a Pioneer DEH-150MP using the wiring harness identified above. The car appears to have a 6 speaker system (lower door, tweeter near the window controls, and rear deck). As far as I can tell, the rear speakers never were working, but I couldn't tell until I had someone sitting in the back seat. Thanks for taking the time to look and advise.

Check your balance and fade first... Double check your wiring if unsure they never worked. You can also ohm the speakers out with DMM.

Oddly enough, the head unit I got does balance but not fade (never seen this before). I will pull it soon and check the wiring.

That radio on the web site says it's a 50x4 amp built in, but it only has one set of RCA pre-outs......
Did it have the four pairs of speaker wires to hook up, specifically the green and violet pairs?
EDIT: Yeah, the owner's manual shows a 4-speaker hook up plain as day..... Either they didn't get connected right, or the harness kit puts them on the wrong pins in the factory plug.
Left rear is on E12 (+) and E13 (-), and right rear is on F14 (-) and F15 (+). Continuing with the front, just in case, left front is on F12 (+) and F13 (-) and right front is on E14 (-) and E15 (+).
That's from my '98 shop manual.
