I took my car to Kentucky auto Service on Ash st in Elsmere, KY to fix the car as it wasn't starting. It turned out to be the starter which cost for $480 to replace, they charged me $120 for intake manifold gaskets but that's another story... We left and got 1 block and realized that the Driver's side was blowing heat while the rest(passenger side & rear) were blowing AC properly. I'm not talking warm air from outside, it's FULL BLOWN HEAT same as the heater being on. We went back and inquired as to why it was working prior and now it wasn't all while in their care, why it took 4 days, why they overcharged on parts but got no where. I know they tampered with something as the trim panel around the DIC/HVAC controls was left popped out a bit when we got it back.
Can anyone help me to figure out what's wrong? I was thinking blend door or actuator but it's not warm air, it's burning hot air like 2 different systems are on at the same time.
Thanks!

...like 2 different systems are on at the same time. They are both on at the same time. The blend door determines how much of each comes out the vents. Sounds like you have a bad actuator.

Thanks, that's what it was. I took the car to my mother in law's friend who has a shop and he replaced the actuator and evacuated/refilled the freon for $220 total while we waited.

Why the evac/vac/refill though? The hot/cold on different sides is purely an actuator issue.

The pressure was too high he said, charged me $35 for the freon.
