^The chimes play through the speakers...
GMOS-05 will retain RAP, chimes, and OnStar(which is useless now, analog).

Figured that out, but wondering why it wouldn't be just a line signal fed into the stock harness ... or in this case, the Metra adapter, which ida thunk would be basically the same for all practical purposes. Ditto for OnStar, which in a perfect world would be just another AUX type input to whatever radio head you use.
New fun factoid.

That particular one said it was not compatible with the Aurora. Do you have another link? ^The chimes play through the speakers... GMOS-05 will retain RAP, chimes, and OnStar(which is useless now, analog). Thats the one. Price is pretty steep at around $80-120, I've never paid more than $20 for a wiring harness.

No, but that is the correct one. No chimes or onstar retention.

Figured that out, but wondering why it wouldn't be just a line signal fed into the stock harness . Uses serial data, requires two-way communication. That's what the module in the more expensive harness does, it's just patch, a very expensive patch... LOL! h4wk, the harness sall linked is basically the same one that comes in the GMOS-05 kit. Just trying to give you some options! So, how bad do you want to keep the chimes?

I like Metra products. I am sure they have a single din kit for the 2G.
