I've done retrofits before on reflector bowl housings but never on an existing projector headlight. I use morimoto (trs) to get my set ups but I'm open to suggestions on other companies. My question is I'm looking for a direct bolt on projector replacement so I can go hid....I have been told the mini d2s is direct but I'm not sure. If no direct bolt is out there... Which one is easiest to install ( I don't want to do to much hacking up inside the housing so the bigger 3 inch projectors are out. Thanks for the help guys

I'm on the mobile app so I can't see your signature, but I'm assuming from the post that it's a 2nd Gen?
I used mini H1s on the 96 and run D2s in my Jag both from TRS. That's the only company I would go with, you've got that one right!
I'm not a 2g expert (awgelage will chime in) but I don't believe there are any bolt in projectors. There's zero aftermarket support for our cars. It can be done, but it takes time and some DIY knowledge. It sounds like you're experienced in that arena as well, so you'll do fine, Andrew will point you in the right direction!

Yes I'm 2g. I'm just looking for easiest installation. I've used many sets of mini h1 but being that it's already a projector set up I'm not sure it's going to mount the save way ( threaded base in hole with lock nut)

Look into what is called 'jnc' mounting. Many are making or having made 3D printed brackets also. Sort of like morimoto quick retro brackets.
