2nd gen Aurora wipers - something strange has happened; at first, the windshield wipers would operate normally, but with some intermittent hesitations; looked like the wiper motor was failing. Then, the motor stopped hesitating, but the wipers stop in the fully "up" position, not the "down" position. 180 degrees out of phase. I put the wipers in intermittent mode, one-shot or spray some washer fluid and always resume in the "up" position.
What is that all about?

Won't apply to Aurora's directly. I'll go with a wiper motor replacement.

It seems many of the stuck in upright position points to that parking tab. Perhaps the 2G does not have that setup though but usually they keep things similar. Either way, let us know!

Yes! I'll inspect the defect motor and will try to fix it. Too bad this is happening in winter - can't take the risk of repairing the unit on my car and being stranded without any wipers if I mess something up...

Correct, 2G wipers don't "park".

I opened up the used replacement wiper motor that I bought. I am assuming a bad contact between the "prongs" and the "round contact plate" (red arrows on both photos)... maybe too much grease is breaking up the contact? Will clean up, remove some extra grease and use this wiper motor.
