I know I'll be torn apart for this but I'm just looking for first hand experience. My retrofit is going to take longer and be more challenging than expected. I'm considering using 9006 hid my halogen projectors. If you have done this what was the cutoff like? Was the beam wide? Was there Too much foreground lighting? On another note what are the brightest halogens I can get?... Not looking at Sylvania's... I need really bright that will fit in my projectors add my night vision is terrible. Thanks guys

I am not a 2G guy but I am fairly certain awehlage said the D2S 3.0s were almost a direct fit. A little fiddling with the mount holes.
Brightest bulbs you can buy halogen wise are 9011 and 9012 HIR. A small tab trim and they fit perfect in the stock low projector and high beam.
There are pictures of PnP in the 2G halogen projectors. The foreground lighting and glare was pretty excessive. I suggest not doing that.

I've been putting off my retrofit for a while, but I've been running 55w HIDs in my lowbeams for over a year and I've never been high-beamed, cussed at, or pulled over or anything. The cutoff is actually pretty crisp against a wall from about 10 feet away, but the glare above that cutoff line is pretty apparent. Enough to shine light onto an overhead highway sign from about 20 feet before it. But then again, those are made to be reflective and shine with any small amount of light on it. I would recommend a retro but just letting you know about my experience

If you can't find them on eBay, try aliexpress. Edit: www.lightwurkz.com/bixenon-morimoto-mini-d2s-20-p-6311.htmlm.aliexpress.com/item/2049723947.html

If you want an easy swap and upgrade in performance do the D2S 2.0. I don't remember the exact width of the holes but I kept using the next size larger drill bit until all projector mounting points lined up without modifying the chrome bezel the halogen projector mounts to.
PM member Paulaurora and ask him about output/satisfaction. I sold and modified those headlights to him. He'd be a good resource for pictures.

The mini h1 7.0... Did not work. I may be interested in the 7.0s. What do you want for them?

So i have a pair on the way man. My Winston to you is the mounting holes (open holes at the top) look to not provide much material for drilling. How much did you drill or am i looking at the wrong holes?

It's doesn't need to be widened very much. I'd say another 1mm or 2mm in diameter.
