After 15 years of faithful service, one of the 2 bulbs for the license plates gave up its fight. I thought it would be an easy fix but found that not to be the case. How do you get to the bulb? Does the inside cover of the trunk lid have to be removed? Anyone replaced their's? I have an '01 with the 4.0.

There are two screws, surrounded by round black plastic things. Unscrew the screws, then pop out the plastic things with a common-blade screwdriver. Done. The only real challenge is doing it with the trunk lid open, as it likes to wobble.

...Does the inside cover of the trunk lid have to be removed? Exactly, haha! After that, 1/4 turn out, replace bulb, 1/4 turn in. Do both, lol!

Remove the carpet cover and just stick ur hand where the bulbs are and you can twist it and remove the bulb.
