I have a 2001, and thinking about picking up my own parts car. wILL THE FENDERS, DOORS, HOOD, ETC, be interchangeable regardless of year?

So does the fact that I can get parts from 3 different years make the Gen 2 easier to get parts for than the Gen 1?

Not really.
GM produced almost twice as many Classics (1st gen) as 2Gs (2nd gen), ~136k and ~71k respectively.
If you figure in wrecks, age, poor maintenance, etc; both are becoming difficult to find. Who really knows how many are even still left...
Just a FYI; 53k 2001 models produced, over 1/4 of ALL Auroras...

Plus you have FIVE years of parts (for the most part minus some changes and OBD1.5 in the 95) to choose from with the classic
