@ tigger. Is this infamous scotchlock under the seat or PCM issue? Sounds like the latter to me, but could be the former.

Haha, I throw that POS scotchlok under the bus every chance I get, but it's not the problem here. It only connects the slave door modules to the master Driver's Door Module (DDM). I'd almost bet it's the PCM, but could be the serial data circuit shorting to ground... LOTSA purple wire to chase! mater, You said, "...while the car is acting up". Is this issue intermittent? That would make me lean more towards a short...

I'd wonder if you had a loose ground to the PCM

yes it's intermittent the only issue that persists is the inability to lock or unlock the driver door. the passenger door has also started to not lock.
the other day the trans dumped down into limp mode for about 5 minutes after that i stopped driving it and it;s parked till i can look at it closer.
if it helps the car has 178,000 original 4.0L and 4l80. had to replace the starter last winter

Well after 2 months and the dealership calling in a gm engineer then shipping the car down to Detroit to gm. Finally found it. It was many things.
First was the driver door modual was shorted internally. But it was not the case as the new one fried after they installed it (at this point it went to Detroit) they then dug through the whole wiring harness and found internally broken wires in the door harness some even poked through there insulation and grounded. This was frying the driver door modual.
It was still messing up but no where near as bad turns out the fuel sender that gas been inoperative sense I bought the car was grounding out and shirting cussing a back feeds to the gauge cluster this was resulting in all the warning lights going off.
Car us back and running great even have a custom made door harness from gm now
