Last night, I compared a spare 2G rear seat cushion to the rear seat cushion in my 2006 STS, and it looks like they use the same clips in the same position, and are the same size, so they should be interchangeable. The STS also has a heated rear seat option, which could probably be made to work in the Aurora, though I'd be a little nervous with that battery under there.
Thought it might be useful knowledge for someone

Yeah that's some handy info! Does the cushion follow the same contour as the 06 Sts? My old 01 donor sts also had the same type of seat as my 01 Aurora, but I never checked is they were exactly the same shape

My old 01 donor sts also had the same type of seat as my 01 Aurora, but I never checked is they were exactly the same shape The 06 STS seems to have a little bit more of a bucket to it than the Aurora seat, on the passenger facing side, but the bottom contour looks to be basically the same. I did not check the thickness very closely though. The 05+ STS also allegedly not a G body, and is instead referred to as "Sigma platform". The Seville was a G-Body from 1998-2004 (Cadillac called it a K body, but the VIN tag says otherwise). There's a lot of little design details that hint to me that this Sigma platform may very well be based on the old G body, but set up for RWD. Maybe I should check the measurements of the front seat mounts too? I wouldn't be massively surprised if the STS front seats would fit in the Aurora, which would open up the possibility of adding cooled seats to the Aurora... I don't have any Aurora front seats to compare it with, so I'd just have to post the measurements on here and let someone else check that.

Haha, you're right about the "G" in the VINs. All 1998+ C, G, H, and K bodies were designated G in their VIN.
And it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Sigma platform was design to be a RWD G. With about a decade of production overlap, no telling how many things they may have in common, lol!

just think, the 05 or 06 Aurora could have potentially have been a RWD car!

Sorry to necropost, but I had a reason to access one of the fuses under my seat today, and decided to try test fitting my spare 2G seat into the STS. It's not a direct fit, looks like there's more padding in the Aurora one, so it sits too high to engage the mounting holes in the STS. That said, I still think a 2G STS seat would likely fit in a 2G Aurora, though you might need to reinforce it. The Aurora has a bit of a bucket under there to fit the battery and other stuff, while the STS doesn't, and instead puts the fuse boxes towards the front under the carpet. If anyone is in western Washington with a 2G and wants to check the fitment of an STS seat bottom in it, let me know!
I really wish they would have made a Sigma platform Aurora.
