Hello all,
Recently I've come across a rather annoying issue. It seems the a/c fan has developed a very high pitched whine. The pitch and intensity vary depending on the fan speed, and the whine occurs regardless of whether the compressor is on/off, if it's on heat or cool, the direction of the air, etc. Is there any way I can get back there and check it out? Can I get to that fan by taking off the center console panel?

Sounds like the bearing in your blower motor is going out. It's #20 in the diagram below, and access is from the passenger footwell. I can post the '01 FSM removal procedure if you want it. Be forewarned, it's about a 6 on my personal PITA-O-Meter, haha!

Yeah, if you could post the removal procedure that'd be great, thanks!
