Just like the posting says. I had a 98 supercharged Buick Regal GS with amber DRL's and i just thought it looked real good in the amber color. Is there a way to have our white DRL's, amber as well? They don't make amber bulbs for us (last i checked), but i like the look. What is needed?
Thanks

The DRLs are the high beams wired in series (2 lights, so 1/2 voltage). When you turn the high beams on, they're wired parallel (full voltage to each). My point is that your DRLs ARE your high beam headlights. Do you really want amber high beams? Is that even legal?
I think someone makes 880s in amber. Do the DRL disable and run your fogs all the time...

I made a module for a member awhile ago to run the park/turn high filament as DRLs on his Classic. I am sure it is probably doable in the 2G as well with some ingenuity. Probably burn through bulbs and potentially the socket though.

Probably burn through bulbs and potentially the socket though. I think you could use the existing DRL relay and wire the parks in series. Any auto or user request for lights kills the DRL relay. Have to look at the wiring diagrams to be sure though...

Hmmm, ok Tigger, I see what you're saying. Damn, didn't realize. Well how about this. At sunset, I am able to turn the side amber lights on and the fog lights, if i wish. IMO, I like the look, it looks awesome. Is there a way to have the current DRLs shut off and only turn on when needed? Then have the side amber lights run as a DRL instead? Follow me? That be awesome....kind of like the C5 corvette.....

Haven't had time to look at diagrams...
You want your park/turn signal lights (the amber lenses facing forward) to function as DRLs, correct?

Yes, park/ turn signal lights to be the DRLs, and blink when turning. Then the current DRLs to be off and only turn on when its dark out with the regular headlights.

Standard "Use At Your Own Risk" disclaimer in effect here, seriously, I haven't tested any of this on my own vehicle... So with that said, first you need to disable the DRL function on the high beam head lamps and restore normal high beam and flash to pass functions; Cut the PINK wire going to the LEFT high beam headlamp. Run the cut PINK wire coming FROM the headlamp to GROUND. That's it. Normal high beams. Now you have DRL + voltage from the remaining cut PINK wire. Add a couple feet of wire for power and ground, a SPDT relay and socket for each side and I think this will work;

Well, give it a shot!
I think it's a simple, solid hack to get what you wanted...

i like how some ppl hate DRLS and wanna turn them off( dono why since it helps for others to see you and not end up hitting someone and going maybe to jail if its a pedestrian) i even seen where guy when to dealer and start yelling at the manager demanding to remove DRL from his car for good lol.
