Fellow Aurora Owners, I wanted to share my Aurora. A little history on it. This was my Mother's car . She passed in June of this year. My pop passed in November of 16. Dad had bought it for her new off the show room floor. He purchased her many cars after the Aurora in 1998. She wouldn't let him get rid of it because it was her favorite car of all time. If even discussed selling it mom would give him the devil. The Aurora was kept in a closed garage from day 1. She has 105k very easy miles on her. Dad was meticulous about service, the cooling system was flushed and additive put in 2 years whether it needed it or not. Oil changed every 3k miles. The oil is clear to this day. She purrs like a kitten and runs like a new one. So as you can imagine I will never part with this car. What I have done so far. Keep in mind I still have a lot of detailing to do. And plan to Update all the exterior marker lights to LED. I have went through the motor, changed spark plugs and wires (she has no codes). Windows tinted. Updated the stereo & speakers to a high-end Kenwood with Hertz speakers, XM and backup cam. Installed a new retracting delco antenna. Swapped to a optima battery. Had a couple of small bent fixed from when she loaned the car to one of the grand kids. And added a spoiler with LED brake light , found one I thought went with the body style. Wanted to give thanks to quixote for a lot of good advice. Any suggestions from the group would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve Click photos for more detail. . . . . .

Touching back story. And condolences on your recent losses.
That's a really sharp '98! Sounds like it's in very capable hands. Just keep doing what you've been doing.
My only suggestion would be maybe some leather conditioner for the seats...

After reading the fuel rail safety recall thread here. I found my 98 needs the recall. At this point is this a recall i can get GM to provide ? Or will i have to do this myself ? Thanks.

After reading the fuel rail safety recall thread here. I found my 98 needs the recall. At this point is this a recall i can get GM to provide ? Or will i have to do this myself ? Thanks. I don't think the recall applies to the 98-99, they have updated nylon fuel rails. My '98 and '99 were/are both nylon, no problems NHTSA Action Number : EA04003 NHTSA Recall Campaign Number : 04V110000 Make : CADILLAC Model: DEVILLE Manufacturer : GENERAL MOTORS CORP. Year : 1995 Component : FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Date Investigation Opened : February 3, 2004 Date Investigation Closed : April 23, 2004 Summary: ON MARCH 3, 2004, GENERAL MOTORS NOTIFIED ODI THAT IT WAS RECALLING APPROXIMATELY 94,000 1995-97 OLDSMOBILE AURORA VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 4.0L V8 ENGINES (RPO L47 - VIN8 "C") TO ADDRESS CONCERNS WITH UNDERHOOD FUEL LEAKAGE FROM CRACKED FUEL RAILS AND, IN SOME OF THE VEHICLES, CRACKED FUEL RETURN LINES. ACCORDING TO GM, THE NYLON TUBING (PA12) USED IN THE FUEL RAIL CONSTRUCTION IN THESE VEHICLES MAY DEGRADE AND CRACK. GM'S SUPPLIER ATTRIBUTED THE CRACKING TO THE COMBINED EFFECTS OF HEAT, TIME, ALCOHOL FUEL, FUEL PRESSURE CYCLING, AND DESIGN STRESSES. IN ADDITION, GM STATED THAT THE MY 1995 AURORA USES A UNIQUE UNDERHOOD FUEL RETURN LINE THAT MAY ALSO CRACK AT UNUSUALLY HIGH RATES. GM DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW FUEL RAIL CONSTRUCTED OUT OF STAINLESS STEEL IN ALL OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES AND WILL ALSO INSTALL A REVISED CHASSIS FUEL RETURN LINE IN THE MY 1995 AURORAS. ON APRIL 16, 2004, GENERAL MOTORS NOTIFIED ODI THAT IT WAS ADDING APPROXIMATELY 389,000 MY 1995-97 CADILLAC SEVILLE, DEVILLE AND ELDORADO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 4.6L V8 ENGINES (RPO'S LD8 AND L37 - VIN8 "Y" AND "9") TO RECALL 04V-110. THE RECALLED CADILLACS WILL RECEIVE THE NEW STAINLESS STEEL FUEL RAILS. THIS ENGINEERING ANALYSIS IS CLOSED.

Thanks @rca1186 that's a relief. After all this work I sure would not want it to burn up. I ran the vin and couldn't find any recalls.
