Hi everyone! Let me introduce myself. I am Paul Vliem and I am a proud owner of a Oldsmobile Aurora build in 1999. I live in the Netherlands (sorry if my grammar isn't correct) and I am the only one in Holland with an Aurora. I've got the car since 2003. Last month I had to revise my engine because of a broken head gasket. This forum had some photos of engines and head gaskets which I used to figure out how to repair my own engine. This is why I signed up for this forum. The engine is fixed and the car is up and running again. kind regards, Paul

Welcome Paul! Glad we could help out. It's always fun to see Aurora owners from other countries on our site. Thanks for keeping her on the road!
Did you guys end up putting studs in the engine block when you repaired the head gasket?

Thanks Paul (we have a good taste of fun usernames) and Rob for your warm welcome! I've used the Northstar performance set with the bright shiny studs, to replace the original head bolts. The old ones were full with aluminum from the engine. I'll show you some photo's.

Wow! Great stuff Paul. Those might be some of the best pictures of the studding process we have on here.

I'm new and 6'2". Will i fit in a 01 Aurora with a sunroof? Also I've heard the drivers seat doesn't go back far enough for tall Drivers, is that true?

Thanks Rob, it was a nice and tough challenge. I am 1.89 meter and I fit precisely in a 1999 Aurora. Don't know how much space you have in a Aurora of the second generation.

I'm 6'-7" and fit in the '99 with a sunroof and '98 without with ease. Very roomy. The 2G did feel a little smaller but I still fit nice when I test drove one.
