Hey, I have a 2001 3.5 and I recently replaced the passenger side wheel bearing. I also have new tires. I notice that when I do a hard acceleration, the light comes on but goes off when turned back on and the ABS still functions when I press the pedal and lockup.
Why is my light coming on?

Find a scan tool capable of pulling ABS codes. If it's tripping the ABS light, you should be able to pull a code pointing you in the right direction.
Could be anything from a loose connection at the EBCM to a failing G-force sensor...

Do you know of any good ones? I have a nice scan tool. but it only does TCM and ECM codes as well as live data.

Yeah, like Paul said, I'd call around to see if any of your local parts stores can scan ABS codes first. If no, or if you just want a scan tool with ABS/SRS, I'd go with Actron or Innova. Unless you want to go all out and pick up a Tech II clone, lol! You could also do the bluetooth adapter and smartphone thing, just make sure it will read ABS/SRS...

I managed picking up an OTC scanner that does both for about 60 bucks, so I found my connection at the wheel bearing is eratic, reads 0, and makes my abs sometimes work on very light braking. So I think my connection wasnt clean or tight.

This is from low fluid rocking in the brake DOT 3 reservoir as you're accelerating or going uphill. Just added brake fluid to mine to resolve this warning. Very cheap, make sure to get a funnel.

Well, I tried cleaning the connection and resetting the code to see if its still there. Code is still present. I read that I may have placed the bearing on backwards. IS that possible on an aurora?

It is literally impossible to place the bearing on backwards. The hub assembly comes complete with the wheel studs. There's only three bolts that bolt it down to the knuckle. If you bought the cheaper part, chances are it already went bad. that is what happened to me. I bought a cheap replacement part and it went bad in about 6 months so I replaced it with Moog and it's night and day in comparison. I'd say your hub bearing is bad.

Just the ABS sensor. It came defective. I didnt pay for it (haha) so no loss really to me. And it only takes 5 minutes to take off, my knuckle is cleaner than my bathroom.

The hub came with a new sensor. I didn't want to make a mistake on those haha. I suppose I could try swapping the sensor.
