the other day the alternator went in my car. we put a new one in and the message in the center consol reads the volts meter at 15.4 - 15.5, is that normal? i cant remember what it read before the alternator change?

Looks ok, that's what my 95 displays at times. Keep in mind that when it's cold outside it takes a higher voltage to charge the battery. Also, if there has been a load on the battery like right after starting or running a lot of accessories it will read higher for a short period. After the car has been run for a while and the interior is warm it should settle down in the 14's.

My 95 reads 15.4 nearly all the time and as far as I know it has the original alternator with 134,000 miles on it. Mine too...14.5 - 15.7 dependending on load
