I'm looking to replace the weak base stock head unit with a touchscreen that has a more powerful amp. I'm concerned about depth, especially as I'll need an adapter for the dock n lock connector. I'm also concerned about the rounded trim that will cover part of the faceplate. Any suggestions or experiences replacing with a double din touchscreen?

There is 2 types of the connectors for the car one is basic one i think 5$ that wont keep any chimes and onstar if you have one. The one about 60$ that will keep all that. if you wanna have almost no modifications you need to get screen not bigger then 6 inch 7 wont fit with out modification and cutting thing out. The car connector can be removed and moved more inside to give more space for the radio. I put 7 inch double din in my car had to cut front bezel. Install 6 inch for my moms Aurora no modifications just cut few thing out from the radio adapter to fit thats about it. You can see radio pix here aurorah.proboards.com/thread/23211/2g-aurora
