So my 95 aurora has a problem where when it is fully warmed up(never happens cold) it will drop rpms or stall when coming to a stop or randomly stall while idle in drive. Also is hard starting while warmed up. So with a scan tool came up no crank sensor a and b signal. I have replaced both crank sensors with new Delphi sensors from car quest, still happens and I get the same code again with check engine light, no improvement. Also tried replacing the TPS and nothing. I don't know what to do now. The car runs and drives great otherwise. Please help!

Thanks for all the replies and responses! Car is going to the junkyard. Not sure why I'm even typing this because this is a dead forum and nobody will ever read it anyway

But, let's get some stuff out of the way first... This forum isn't dead just yet, but yeah, participation is declining. Show me a better one specific to the Aurora... The last Aurora ever produced will soon be 16 years old. And I would assume your '95, at almost 24, is one of a very small number of that year still around... A lot of new members, like you, only join to get an answer for their problem, most with no feedback... You've started 2 threads seeking knowledge, but never relayed your experience with the '95 to impart knowledge to anyone... So what's with the criticism/cynicism? Hate to think you're really gonna scrap it though...

I would suspect wiring to the crank sensors. Also I believe a lot of times problems with the crank sensors can be traced back to the ICM.

You've started 2 threads seeking knowledge, but never relayed your experience with the '95 to impart knowledge to anyone... This is a big problem that this forum has. No one sticks around anymore. They come for an answer and never come back if they get one. Or they don't come back to tell others if they find the answer themselves.

Check your wiring, pretty sure I have the same problem. What scanner are you using?
On Rockauto.com when looking at crank sensors it says to buy the wiring pigtail. Sounds like a common problem.

You do care 😭😭 sorry for being an ass. I havent junked it yet. So I actually found a vacuum leak where the vacuum hoses go into the top of the trottle body. Stalling problem is gone now and I have a running driving car, but still have the stupid crank sensor code. We have a friend of the family who owns a smog shop though, and since its OBD1, I think we can probably get away with it.
A mechanic friend seems to think there might be just enough slop in the crank that it gets this code. What do you guys think?

Do you own a scanner for a 95? If so which one? Are you getting DTC 83? What about DTC 35? Did you replace the wiring for the crank sensors when you did them? See if this helps imgur.com/a/gFLZNTI

Interesting! I'll look at rock auto and see if I can buy wiring pigtails. Yes I did get code 83 that's the one.

Update! I pumped in about 10 gallons of gas and started up and check engine light was off. Could I possibly have a fuel related issue throwing a crank sensor code??? I'm going to try some fuel system cleaner in the tank.

Maybe you had to go so many key cycles before the code cleared?

More than likely coincidental that the code cleared at the same time as the fill up. The real question is did the symptoms go away with the disappearance of the light?

I havent had any stalling since I fixed the vacuum leak that I found, but it still hard starts when warmed up and I have to feather the throttle a little to get it started. Check engine light came back on today.

What scan tool are you using for your 95? I'm looking to get one for mine.

Gearbar it's an expensive scannerwith a 6 inch LCD touchscreen at the dealership where I work. It says Solus on top and snap-on on the bottom. I dont actually own one.

The Aurora lives! So I took the plunge on a new ICM (Ignition Control Module) it was $200. Installed it, check engine light went off and runs great! The power is back and I believe the fuel economy will be better. Thanks to Garbear for the imgur link, I couldn't have figured it out without that! Thank you all so much. I will try to remember to come on here as often as possible to share my knowledge on Auroras. I have done major work to the one I have. Did the crossover gaskets, replaced the brake booster, other stuff ect. So I have some Aurora experience. Thanks again everyone!

...Also I believe a lot of times problems with the crank sensors can be traced back to the ICM. I had a feeling it'd be the ICM. Congrats on the fix!!

This is a little off the maintenance topic, but I geel guilty after reading this post. The reason is that I UNINTENTIONALLY have done the same thing that the newbies do. In my defense I do spend a bit of time reading the posts and responses, and even have a pretty good idea on who's advice to follow, and who not to.... Unfortunately my 97 Autobahn went to the junkyard before I got the transaxle and such out of it. My 98 however runs pretty good overall. It has a slight exhaust leak or a serious intake/vacuum leak I don't think it is a vacuum leak and I don't think I lose enough oil to be an intake leak, not only that but when I hook up a vacuum guage I am showing good vacuum. (About 20 at idle) (It does seem to return to 20 a bit faster than I think it should after WOT) Sh** gas mileage in the City, like 9.5 but about 24 or 25 on the highway.
Anyway, my apologies once again for not posting as much as I should but I do participate even if by reading only.
