Today my project is to get the backup camera installed and to actually fit this thing (Power Acoustik CP-650) into the dash. I'm a little concerned about the depth because the car uses the dock-lock style Bose stereo and I think this head unit will be too deep to have the GMOS-09 connected and have the radio harnesses connected. I suppose I could just press it in there and hope I don't pinch/cut wires but that's not cool. I compared the depth of the two units (old Bose and new CP-650) and the depth is about the same.
Do I have to somehow to move the dock-lock socket from the back of the radio bay? How does that work? Does it have clips I can disengage to move it without destroying it? I'd like the option of putting the old stereo back in if possible.

had no issue putting head unit. All you have to do just move the plug that inside the car behind plastic bracket. if you remove the center counsel you will have more room for wires and hide them only thing you cut is front bezel if screen bigger then 6.2 inches . so any unit will fit with nothing need to be cut behind.

To move this plug up inside behind the plastic can I just push it up until it pops off or will it break somehow? It's unclear how it's mechanically connected to the plastic wall inside the back of the bay.

You move it up and then you will see that you can push it behind the plastic panel. same goes to Antenna

You move it up and then you will see that you can push it behind the plastic panel. same goes to Antenna OK seriously - I tried pushing it up with as much force as I could without breaking it. I'm afraid I'm going to break it if I use a pry-bar or something. I just wanna slide it up over the plastic so I can move it back behind the panel. How much force do I need to use or do I have to use something to push a tab or something to slide it up? EDIT: Figured it out! So this socket goes through the sub-dash in the back of the radio bay but there's a slot above it. It looks like it can slide up and be free of the sub-dash but it was impossible to slide up. I put some thin sheet metal behind the sub-dash wall but in front of either side of the part of the socket that slide up and down the back of the sub-dash and must have freed the pins that were keeping it from moving. It popped up without an issue after that. I did one side at a time.

Weird, I never put a different radio in but my dock thing never was held down so hard. Maybe previous owner broke it when he did a half-assed job putting his stereo in.

The thing I was having a problem with was just the socket that the radio plugs into. The radio itself came out smooth as butter but the thing it was plugged into was not coming out of the slot it was connected to no matter what I tried. I had to find a 1 inch square piece of very thin sheet metal to release the clips in the front and back of it.
