Not always but often I will get the security light staying on when I start the car. Sometimes I get the message on the DIC as well. Same issue with both keys. Is it a bad key, chip, ignition cylinder or electrical issue? It hasn't stopped me srom starting the car. I have a V8 01 Aurora.

if there is a short(battery or other wires.) it can cause that massage or most likely issue with ignition cylinder.

Thanks. I'll try cleaning the key and see if it helps any. My key fobs don't work even with a new battery so I'll look into that as well.

I had faulty wire on purge solenoid that caused my security warring popup. So i guess any short can make things act up.
