Hey everyone! My 01 Aurora is doing some strange things. The DIC has given me the following errors:
1. THEFT FAULT - I literally turn the key to the On position and I get this error. I turn the key to off then back on and start the car and the error goes away each time. The remotes that came with the car don't work after changing the battery. I ordered new ones. Can this cause the issue?
2. LOW OIL PRESSURE - 92kpa at idle and it goes up as I accelerate or maintain a speed on the highway. It seems in line with my Camaro. Oil level is good too.
3. LOW COOLANT - I check the reservoir and coolant is at the right level
The Low Oil and Low Coolant only came up one time.
My heat only comes out the main vents and doesn't work on front defrost or feet. I'm guessing this is the heater bend door actuator. I ordered a new one and will replace it. This was the issue on my old 01 Aurora. Could it be anything else?

I doubt it's the remotes.
I had a lot of random, intermittent issues going on when my ignition switch started flaking out - No starts, with and without theft faults, stalls, dead tach and speedo, erroneous DIC messages and chimes, etc.
Not saying that's your problem 100%, but definitely worth a look.

I would guess your issues aren't related.
Your oil pressure may have dipped for a brief moment or you could have a faulty oil pressure sensor. Very common issue usually fixed with an OEM Ac Delco replacement.
For the low coolant. Open the hood, locate the coolant surge tank and give it a few open handed pops with the palm of your hand. Sometimes the coolant will go low and then after it gets refilled the sensor's float stays stuck in the "low" position. Not saying this is for sure your issue but it has happened to me more than once.
The remotes don't work after changing their batteries or you changed the car's battery and then they don't work? They could just need to be reprogrammed. I wouldn't think that would cause your issue though.

Thanks for the input guys! tigger I haven't had the car stall, die or not start yet. It just gives theft fault. I'm guessing that you had a similar issue and it was your ignition. I know it's not too hard to replace, but it needs to be programmed with the theft system afterwards I believe and it can't be driven after the change so it would need to be towed to the dealer to program it. @rca1186 I will try the reprogramming approach. I got new remotes in the mail today. The old ones were pretty beat up and even missing some of the rubber buttons exposing the circuit board. Seems the car is showing her age with the sensors acting up, I guess I just have to do things the old fashioned way and remember to check things myself too!
