Resonator and muffler replacement

Wow... these V8's really open up when you get them breathing right!  

2001 4.0    Removed resonator and replaced stock mufflers with single chambered muffler 2.5" in/outlet and aftermarket tips.  Beautiful deep throaty rumble.  now very responsive throttle and very hard pulls off the line and at roll...

2003 4.0    Removed resonator and replaced stock mufflers with glass pack muffler 2.5" in/outlet and stock tips. Nice raspy but kind of low rumble. again, now very responsive throttle and very hard pulls off the line and at roll...

the later is definitely louder.  

We need to get a midwest meet going in 2019...

Not a bad idea at all. I'm assuming that you meant in Illinois, right? Aurora, North Carolina is closer to me but hey, I get to drive 14 hours in my car? To talk to like minded car owners? Count me in!

Losing the resonator by itself would be a tiny performance benefit. Have you ever weighed one? Off the top of my head they're like 18 - 22 pounds!
