Recently bought this car. Exterior door handle does not open the door. The interior handle works. I put a new exterior door handle on put it is still
not unlatching the door. I checked and the linkage is connected at both ends. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Everything was attached as the original door handle. It looks like it doesn't push the mechanism all the way down as you mess with the door handle. Does the rod need to be bent or something? Can you open the door with just the rod with the door handle removed? If so you might just need to straighten the rod out a little to give it some extra length.
