Anyone ever tackled repair of 2001 Heater motor? About to remove one that has the two power wires and a speed control wire. Will know more when it is opened up, also I intend monitoring the control wire to see the nature of the signal. Max.

Yeah, my HVAC motor is going out too. I noticed cause it goes out or turns off once in a while. So I give it a good steel toe to the bottom and it's up and running😁. This is just temporary, I'll get on it later before next Summer.

IIRC, there's only one power wire. The other two are a flange ground and a pulse width modulated motor ground (speed control). You'll need a meter that can read Hz % (duty cycle) to monitor the signal as you adjust the fan speed up top. Have fun digging it out, haha!

I had this issue. Either a Fonzie tap, a well placed kick, or some good railroad tracks got the motor going. In my situation, all I had to do was replace the blower motor itself, not the housing. It's not that hard as 3 bolts takes the motor out. PM9218 is the Murray part number.

Monitored the signal wire and took a shot of the PWM signal which was present, I found a new blower for a really good price, if it had been summer time I would have had a shot at fixing the old one. But if I manage to fix it, it will be a spare! Will update later as to what I find. Took 6 screws and a couple bloody fingers to remove!! Max.
