So today my 03 started doing the oddest thing: when I turn the car on, the front passenger window goes down on it's own. YAY! I love gremlins. Short in the switch or window motor? I didnt see anything in these forums about this particular issue but maybe I didnt use the proper keywords. Any thoughts?

Don't forget the door module, haha!
The window lock doesn't stop it?

Don't forget the door module, haha! The window lock doesn't stop it? Not sure if the window lock stops this. I will be trying that today. I'd hate to roll through the car wash and then POOF, window drops. That would suuuuuck.....

Welp, the window lock solution works for the moment. Not permanent, of course. Yay for electronics.

When it rolls down, does the switch stay depressed? As in, is it still trying to roll the window down even when it is all the way down, and further, can you roll it back up and it stays up?
The 2G doesn't have any programmable window down feature with key FOB unlock does it? haha

Yes i had this happen as well but for me was rear left i replaced the switch but still was doing the same so i read somewhere that it was onstar doing that if your car had onstar try to disconnect after i did that never happen again. I guess it sends some strange codes who knows or just causing a short.

Update: looks like the switch may have gone bad. I found a fresh kill in our local junkyard and pulled the window switch. After installing and turning off the lock, my window is acting right upon startup. (For the moment!)
