The full title is: "Carroll Shelby - The Lost Interview | Ford v Ferrari | Le Mans | GT40 | Complete Life History": hereIt's long (139 minutes), only a lightly edited (Shelby repeats himself a little), but I think it's interesting. He has some things to say about the Corvette at GM, Lee Iacoca, the politics of working with/for the Big Three automakers [Detroit]. He seems to have a lot of respect for Pete Brock, but I have seen an interview where Brock has a totally different take on the Kammback rear end especially, and the GT40 compared to the Shelby Daytona [Brock designed]. Shelby also throws a little bit of shade on Iacoca's credit for leading development of the Mustang, & how much de Tomaso had to do with developing the Pantera. I have not found the actual date of the interview, but I'm guessing around 2000, because he talks about how they are building the Shelby Series 1... I thought I would share with you guys, because after 120 minutes in, he calls the Northstar engine "the finest racing engine currently being made in North America." He died in 2012, so he would have seen some of Ford's ecoboost engines (& some of the other FI engines from other makes)... which leaves me wondering what he would have thought. He missed the higher output engines that FIC started putting out, and Ford GT coming out for the 50th anniversay of the GT40. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the video.
