...I wanted to ask anyway who has experienced this. I was driving along minding my own business and suddenly I'm lit up like a Christmas Tree. It has been raining today. When I turned off the car and turned it back on, no more problems. Where would you start the diagnosis track?

Just a stab in the dark, but check around the PCM and underhood fuse block for moisture, and make sure the connections are good.
Intermittent electrical issues are the worst!

The exact same thing happened to my 2G a long time ago. The cause? A bad jolt caused by going through a pothole, would you believe?

I found condensation-like moisture under the trunk carpet directly behind the back seat. The sunroof drainage tubes are not blocked. I'm hoping that it was just 4 straight days of rain and crazy fluctuating temps (25 to 30 degree swings) causing havoc.
