Hello, I have a 95 olds aurora autobahn edition that has a dead cylinder that i am not willing to foot the repair bill for and i was wondering if anyone would have an idea of the value? I know it`s not much and i certainly dont want to junk it if there is someone out there willing to fix it up and use it i`d rather see it live on.
It has around 117k with very minimal rust. We have owned it since it was three years old and it has been taken care of and not abused. I`m just not sure how it has a dead cylinder. My guess is that it chipped a piston, It had 70 psi when i tested it and once you get over 3k RPM it builds compression and feels normal but lower rpm it shakes a lot as you can imagine.
I have gotten some good info here when needing help fixing the car over the years and always found what i needed so this is the first place i thought of for this inquiry. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help guys, I guess it`s going to the crusher. I`m a member of many automotive message boards and this is the first one where not one person could say a single word even if they couldn`t help with an answer especially for a first time post. I realize this board is small with almost no traffic but whatever. Thanks again lol.

C'mon bro, it's only been three days, and over a weekend, lol! The sarcasm isn't appreciated.
Need to know more about the condition of the car, work done, etc. 100K+, minimally rusted, non-abused '95 Aurora with a mysterious engine miss won't bring top dollar...
And Welcome!

Yeah, there aren't many members around here any more. It isn't worth much unfortunately.

Before sending it to the crusher why not put it on craigslist for double what the salvage yard will give you. Nothing I hated more than seeing serviceable and rare cars in the yard that I would have easily paid triple the $100-$200 the yard gave them.

Check the value at www.autotrader.com It might be worth something, even with the work it needs.

Do you have time and space to part it out yourself? Otherwise I’d agree with skorpiius’ suggestion... crusher is a big step, Pick N Pullmight sell it as a runner!?
