AuroraGirlFromMars yeah the universal one is said to work for rings between 5.9"-7.87" and our cars have 3.7"-rings. so that would not work. ...but the J-39765 is a bit $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

So I did it, replacing the rotten fuel pump clamp ring with a brand new one. With the right, unaffordable tool - you only live once I guess. All greased up & ready to go for another 250k.

The "final touch" was rust inhibitor paint in the trunk. And then, will also have to look into the rear trunk torsion rods... ever since I replaced the trunk cover with the Aluminum version , i have had troubles finding the right balanced setup... that's another story.

Al trunk lid, offered in 2001 only. Easy to spot, no plastic bezel around the licence plate: Steel: Aluminum: 60 pouds of steel, vs 40 pouds of Al, but I picked the Al for the looks. But torsion rods of the steel trunk are just too much and yank the lid like crazy...

edit: I see mine had the bezel. Why didnt that 01 have an aluminum one? The best explanation came from Tigger: aurorah.proboards.com/post/321546/thread"T41 LID,RR/COMPT ALUMINUM ALUM RR COMPT LID (T41) 14,575 ^from by build sheet, 14,575 4.0's built, so ALL '01 4.0's have aluminum deck lids. FWIW, ALL Aurora's have aluminum hoods. The two piece deck lids were steel and were on ALL 3.5's. Some late '02 and most '03 4.0's got the two piece lid."

My park avenue hood is also aluminum. the decklid is steel sadly but the torsion bars make it light. im kinda like you for my park avenue. you wouldnt want to know how much those tail lights cost me lol
