Hello!
I recently purchased a 98 Aurora and I'm having a ton of electrical issues I can't seem to figure out. This is my 2nd Aurora and I didn't experience these problems before (it was a 97 model). The 98 has a security box that was installed at the dealer when purchased. I'm having an issue where I can unlock the car, and the alarm sounds. The car will start, run, and drive, as I had to drive it to work with the alarm sounding off for the first minute of the drive. Is that box removable at all? I feel like there's a bad ground in it. The wires have all been resodered as they were basically a bees nest when I bought the car.
Another issue - I have had constant problems with the radio pretty much popping the relay even with a new relay, resetting the clock to 1:00, and powering off while driving. The old and new relay both stay considerably warmer than any other relays in the box under the back seat. Could that be the bad ground causing the other issues?
Final problem - the AC controls: they usually don't work when I first start the car,, and it takes sometimes 5 to 30 minutes of driving for them to work, but usually they work for a minute or 2 then blink, then quit working entirely and reset the system to defrost and feet, at different fans speeds every time. However I have noticed at certain times when I smash the gas they come back up and work, but then blink on the temperature screen and eventually the screen will go blank and the controls get stuck with defrost and feet again. I personally think that may be the blower control module, which I have one to replace, amd I also have another dash piece with the controls to try that option. Besides those two parts, is there anything else anyone recommends to try?
I appreciate your time!

Are you unlocking the car with the key in the actual lock, or do you have a key fob? If the radio has been changed, they may have hacked up the wiring to the HVAC. Usually we recommend checking for broken wires in the driver's door boot but I'm not quite sure this is the case for you.
