Is there a list of cars with a suspension that would fit the second gen aurora? The Lucerne for example. I want to upgrade my suspension. I'm currently running KYB at all four corners and honestly they ******* suck! I expected more from KYB but they turned out to be real big turds when it came to warranty issues with their product. I'm looking for a better ride. I saw that some of the Lucerne parts fit the classic but I'm not sure if they fit the second gen. Any thoughts? Any and I'll help is greatly appreciated.

You said "looking for a better ride". Can you describe "better"? Do you want a softer ride or a more firm one?

More firm. Don't want the body roll.

Everything I read in the link makes reference to the classic aurora. I don't see anything where anyone has confirmed that these parts will fit the second gen. 🤔

I believe anything that fits the 98+ knuckle should fit a 2G. For instance, Rockauto lists the same Gabriel quick strut for both the 98 and the 01.

More firm. Don't want the body roll. Polyurethane sway bar and end link bushings. ...And a strut tower brace!

AmumRoo, not to hijack your thread... Are you running the KYB stock replacement rear air shocks as well? If so, how are they? I've got NAPA's on the back of the 3.5 currently and they ride rough compared to stock (though they seem to handle a little better). I need new rears on the 03...

I know there are some parts from a 3rd gen 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS that some parts do interchange so maybe look into that or even maybe teh XTS or 2nd gen Lacrosse? Im not for sure though.

I always use ACdelco shocks in the back never an issue.

I've tried to find new ACDelco replacements, but it seems the OE variety are scarce at this point. Only an aftermarket design that doesn't mate up to the air lines without adapters. They also have really bad reviews on Amazon.

The only ones I could find with stock connections recently were the Gabriel. I can't speak on longevity as I just put them in but ride seems "normal"

The only ones I could find with stock connections recently were the Gabriel. Is the "old reliable" Monroe MA822 no longer available? I have noticed more threaded air line connections though. phewop118, I'll vouch for the KYB SR1002. 6+ years and still going strong. Slightly firmer dampening characteristics, but not harsh or rough...

The boots look like they're poor quality. They squeak and squeal like an old car. Worst purchase I've ever made.

You need the thicker OEM Sway bar found on the fe3 or whatever the rpo is for firm handling. Then poly mounts. I don’t know if they are made but new SUBFRAME mounts, especially poly, would stiffen it up a LOT All 6 mounts get sloppy and your entire drivetrain sloshes about

Your rear subframe to body mounts, control arm bushings, and front subframe mounts and control arm bushings are areas of a lot of play and wear but you don’t see many people replace them as much as you should

Rear spring isolators, quality of new front spring isolators, etc all make a big difference

Rear shock mounts. How worn? Really can only tell if you unbolt bottom and give it some handling, can make Noise and both worn act like stilts for your rear suspension

You need the thicker OEM Sway bar found on the fe3 or whatever the rpo is for firm handling. All Auroras are FE3, but you are correct, thicker sway bars improve handling. The ones on similar era Seville STS are a millimeter or two thicker than 2G, and will bolt right up! X2 on the poly!

My park avenue is soft ride, the spring rates really change the cars. Like, if you wanted a softer aurora.. use a fe1 park avenue or maybe riviera if they were fe1. Maybe caddy’s have same? Idk. If they weren’t original and d and worn I’d be using them on my aurora lol.
