I simply didn't believe my eyes when I saw a thoroughly destroyed house for sale at www.zillow.com/homedetails/46-Elizabeth-St-Waterbury-CT-06704/58013258_zpid/ And somebody wants $39,000 for it!!! I at first thought that it was some sort of a joke!!!! What planet is the owner living on???

ye its common means you just pay for the land and than you spend maybe 300-400k to build new house.

When it comes to investments, I prefer only those that are 100% safe, such as US treasury bonds and notes, or bank CDs. Real estate investments never appealed to me because there's no guarantee that the property will appreciate. To me, that type of investment is sort of unpredictable.
