Hi there, to all, and any advice on my below mentioned problem, would be
greatly appreciated. I would think the same problems often recur, and it's
likely someone else has had this, and solved this problem with their 4.0 L
V8, 2001- 03 Aurora engine. Any advice from Aurora owners would be great.
With my 2001 Aurora (4 L), I have this problem, but the car actually runs good,
but just when I'm coming close to a dead stop, it"sometimes" bucks a couple
times before idling down to low RPMS that it should have, at stop position.
It's like the engine wants to keep going, and doesn't realize, we need to stop.
The engine doesn't rev high or anything, it just sort of bucks a couple times.
This problem only happens intermittedly - not all the time. How can I fix this?
At this point, just before coming to a dead stop the engine is not idling fast,
but just when it's about to stop, it tries to start going again, making the car
have a couple little "bucking" forward motions. ( jerking) It then stops in a
normal way, after this action happens. ( bucking)
I did talk with Tigger ( administrator) on here, in 2017, and he's a very smart
poster here, and he said a common problem with these cars is as follows:
He says -- there is a rubber boot gasket between the throttle body and the
intake, that often fails, allowing unmetered air in, causing the engine to surge.
I wonder if this is what I should look at first, and if any of you have had this ?
Other than this problem, my transmission runs and shifts smoothly, and the
speed of the car is not affected at all at normal driving speeds, but only when
slowing down to come to a stop - may start to buck a bit before stopping. My
car does not go into limp mode, but the Check Engine Light is on. Maybe you
have has this problem, or read of it from other posters here ?
NOTE -- This does not happen at normal idle, but only when coming to stop
while driving ?? Only happens time to time ( intermittedly)
I love the car, and would like to solve this. Will a code reader, pop up a correct
code ? or maybe have the Mass Air Flow Sensor and Throttle Body cleaned ?? let
me know if this has happened to you, or you've read about this problem on here.
Maybe some of you mechanically adept owners can advise me on how to proceed.
Thanks a lot -- from -- Grant ( in Canada)
