I had replaced the front struts in 2015, 80000kms ago. It was time to replace them, thumping sound when driving on bad roads when cold. the neat part is using a small jack to help position the new strut in place. Also, the brake hose / ABS connector brackets used 10mm bolts, but these did not fit on the new struts -- had to use 1/4-20 nut & bults to secure them. the bad part -- noticed my BRAND NEW stainless brake lines were fine but the fittings were actually rusting... you'd think stainless lines would have stainless fittings, but no... so I covered the fittings in grease and hope for the best.

Went for wheel alignment today - what a WORLD of difference these new suspension parts makes! It's always the same - slow degradation over time goes un-noticed, but replacing the part brings 100% of the performance in a matter of hours

Also, are your calipers OE or did you do a brake upgrade? Because Im a little self concious with my insecurities about it (Lol jk) but this is on my 99 park avenue, same suspension and all, but just curious. Attachments:

Your trans mount also appears a little worn and the locking thing on the bolt isnt where it was "intended" to go. clearly hasnt been a problem for you but nitpicking is my specialty

Also pro tip, double check the torque on the strut mount up top in engine bay, I got screwed by detroit axle because one was loose and It allowed the spring to shift and now it bows outward. its not on my vehicle and i called htem and they said they would honor 10 year warranty on that no prob, jsut havent got that far.

It is to prevent the bolt from turning since im pretty sure it goes oppposite of rotation heres an old example of mine. I no longer have that bolt due to... political differences. Ignore my improperly painted bracket... I painted the wrong side of the damn mount Lol.... I wasnt about to fix it when i realized because I had enough paint fumes that day evidently. notice the bolt is no longer got the hook. Also my strut bolts are not OEM, the nuts are, but thats another fun story lol... Ignore the punctured tie rod boot. Theres a lot to ignore ngl. Its living on borrowed time its kinda like a "YOLO" thing

Are those standard rotors, or lucerne rotors, and did this require 17 inch wheels? I think the wheels in your profile pic are the stock 17 iirc, yes? Did you touch your rear brakes?

The rotors are bigger, from the same Lucerne. Fits the OEM 17" wheels, but you need a different spare wheel to clear the calipers, which I learned the hard way! The rear setup has 2002 Cadillac DTS calipers/rotors, direct bolt in & works with the parking brake cables.

Is the 2002 dts rear setup larger or something special about it?
