FWIW,
In my '99 and '01 Auroras I found evidence of mice under the driver's chair, in the glove box, under the center console, under the back seat, and at the cabin filter as your photos show. I removed four mice over a period of a couple months with a mousetrap baited with peanut butter.
After removal and clean up, and on the advice of my mechanic I tried using mothballs to repel them. Over a year now with no further signs of mice. I put about three mothballs in a plastic cup, duct-taped over most of the top of the cup while still leaving small openings, and put it in the glove box. The cars carry a faint naphthalene smell, but we've had no more mice.

Did the mice get in through a window that was left down?

Mothballs do work, and also I have heard Irish Spring soap works too. I am trying the soap trick on my other car (a Cutlass) in storage, will report back in spring when the car is back on the road 🤞

Did the mice get in through a window that was left down? I am under the impression mice can crawl from the engine bay through the blower...

I am under the impression mice can crawl from the engine bay through the blower... Maybe. From the experiences I had with mice in a very large house that I lived in a long time ago, I found out that they are very smart when it comes to getting inside.

Hi Marc,
No, I don't think they came in through an open window. From other debris in the engine bay I suspect that they came through there. With debris in the cabin air filter and glove box, I think that could have been the route inside.
