Hi all. My name is Garrett. I live in Melbourne, FL. I just bought a Chestnut 2001 4.0. It has 50k miles and was babied. I plan on keeping that tradition alive. Loving this site, as I know the Aurora can be a ***** sometimes.

Leak in trunk can be because of the clogged or not connected hose or the trunk gasket has to be resealed with silicone . For abs scan the codes it can be hub bearing issue or wiring on bottom of the car close to the middle of the front bumper. Make another pic of the trunk so i can see both sides.

For abs scan the codes it can be hub bearing issue or wiring on bottom of the car close to the middle of the front bumper. Make another pic of the trunk so i can see both sides. I'll take more pictures of the trunk, but all the seam welds look solid. I was inside the trunk when the water was being sprayed all around the trunk area, and no water came in. I myself doused the trunk area with water and nothing. As far as the sunroof drains are concerned, I haven't tried to open the sunroof. The previous owner said she opened it once and it made a terrible grinding noise. She had a neighbor push the glass back in place. So I have to assume that when I try to open it, I'm going to have to deal with THAT problem and try to source new sunroof assembly parts. But I guess I need to bite that bullet to see if the drain hoses are working. I read a thread on here where someone took off the A-pillar cover and found the drain hose and cut it with an exacto and added string. It seemed convoluted but maybe that's the direction we have to go.

Your doors are probably fine, your window (although there is a TSB for the rear window for air noise) is probably fine. YOur SUNROOF is probably the issue
Go into the trunk, on the deep pockets on the sides there are the place where sunroof drains terminate. They go through a grommet to the outer part of car inside the fender area pull them out of the grommet, nip the ******** pinhole orifices off to be the size of the tube, and reinsert(I forget specifics, its been a few years since i had my 2001)
Then go pull your inner wheel houses on the side of the cabin in the front wheels, couple clips/pins. there are 2 more hoses just draining to there. Nip those open.
Then confirm with a cup of water and sunroof open by pouring into each corner drain to make sure it drains

I followed a thread from 2007 posted by kbpickle about the removal of the sunshade. So I just went out and removed the glass, the drip panel and the sunshade. Found that the little plastic part at the end of the wind deflector has snapped off and the arm of the deflector was caught between the sheetmetal and the sunroof mechanism. Took out the deflector and everything works as it should. Going to pour some water in the sunroof rails and see if it drains at the four corners of the car. No moisture in the front so far, and the trunk drain hoses were dry. I'll report my findings.

Funny you mention, my 2001 deflector actually had parts of it broken and they were jammed in the rear ports lol! But The tubes being dry isnt the big concern, what happens is that the 4 drains are designed to handle the imperfect seal of the sunroof. i dont know why they cant design sunroof to properly seal on their own, but whatever. The 4 drains are barely enough for good rain as OE intended. as soon as water overtakes them, water goes into the frame and then usually either drips through headliner to the floor or it will travel the C pillar on the outside of the tube. then it will be on the floor/battery(depending on how it migrates) my rear floor was VERY wet. I had my whole interior out, I also relocated the front drains (Dont ask lol) But you should snip those rubber nipple things off at the ends. its a 3/8 or smaller tube and it terminates at a bb size, its for NVH but it means backed up water. especially parking under trees

So I figured out some of the water leak. I had three problems. The rear driver side door vapor seal was not fully sealed. The rear driver side sunroof drain hose wasn't draining (also wasn't leaking, so still unclear about the standing water I initially found in the trunk spare tire well). There is a hole in the seal on the inside of the rear glass near the roof. I'm not sure what to use to fill it. Something silicone based? Butyl based?

Silicone is good. Make sure that the surfaces where you're going to put the silicone are perfectly clean and dry.

www.amazon.com/08302-High-Solids-Heavy-Bodied-Fast-Curing-Solvent-Based/dp/B000RVWQ2C?th=1Also, I cant see everything but it looksl ike you have sealer skips(use clear sealer, the one i Linked is a good idea) The flange for the trunk seal looks odd or the seal may be applied weird. The grommet for the pass throughs where the drain hose goes through and the wiring for the tail light should be checked. your window almost looks like it was improperly put in, may not be original install. your plugged drain would have caused your wet spare wheel well, even if you had no other issues. So hmm
