Wow, I did not know it was possible to pull a mostly complete engine out of the top. The procedure we have posted on here for pulling from the top involves removing the intake among other things. How long did it take you to get it out?

Stay tuned Thank-you, Please do keep the pictures coming. 10 years ago I would see maybe 5 or 6 1st gen Auroras on the road (southern Ontario) and now (2022) mine is the only one I see locally. The paint is peeling off but otherwise it's in good condition. (now with new northstar performance head studs and better quality head gaskets). Fred

Fred it took maybe 6 hours but I was taking my time trying to work though how to get to stuff to disconnect it, worst part was I used the factory lift points with my sling and the angle was way off, but the way I had my sling mounted I couldn't change the back to front, only side to side. wound up having the finally unbolt the down pipe from the rear man and crossover tube. it wasnt too bad of a job, least you can remove the master with out unhooking it and just lay it over to the side, couldn't be that easy with my L67 swap into my old 9C3 lumina it was a good thing I needed to replace the master and the ABS motor pack on that car , so its 3 birds killed with 1 stone. finally had a chance to get the engine on the stand and take the intake off and I could see into one cyl really good though the intake valves and man The hone marks on the cyl look like someone rebuilt this engine last month , they are still nice and crisp. Valves seems to be pretty far off their seats, these cams must have a good amount of lift. I think Im gonna try and reinstall it through the front, after removing the front bumper and rad support crossover. looks to be plenty of room the ease it in that was and being able to reinstall the downpipe after its already behind the rack.

Right On! The job you did is not for the feint of heart. Wish there were more people around like you willing to tackle that kind of work. I topped up the tank on my 97 last week with premium at a country gas station and got a load of crap. With the price of gas being so high it seems that almost nobody is buying premium and what I got was water contaminated and maybe a little too old. I'm going to try running regular and let the knock sensor do its job. So far with half a tank of 87 octane (10% ethanol) it is running fine with what's left of the bad tankful. I'll see what happens to the fuel mileage. yeah, I had premium heading up and topped off with 5 gallons of regular for the trip back. I plan on running reg next tank and see how it does and see how it does.

Picked up a tech 2 clone and installed some New Ohtsu FP7000 in the stock size really improved the ride over the old hard Tigerpaws and a much much quieter. , Removed the Air compressor from under the car, disassembled it, cleaned it and found the Air intake line was completely rotten and had fallen off, reassembled and reinstalled it and now it works perfect. get some pics tomorrow if we get a break in the storm.
